Hi Everyone,

Just a late intro to the devos that you’ve been and will be seeing in the blog because introductions are awesome and cool. We have two contributing devotional writers (Dedo Suwanda and Michael Kang) and we’re very grateful that they’ve allowed us to post their devos on our Westside Blog.

We pray that these devos will enrich your own meditation of God’s Word and your personal time with the Lord.

But Jesus immediately said to them: “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.”

Read the title one more time and let it sink in… God has the power to show you that He is God.
Did you know that God is always at work? He never sleeps, He never has lunch breaks, He never takes a vacation! God is always at work.
Throughout the day it is so easy for discouragment to take a hold of us.. all it takes is one bad convo, one speeding ticket, one setback. When we allow discouragement to settle in our hearts and take root, what we find is that God no longer is able to show His power in us.

It is so comforting to know that the God of the universe loves you so much that He has taken a special interest in your personal life. He cares about every little thing! He cares about your work, He cares about your relationships, He cares about your church, He even cares when you finally get a date and you find a giant pimple on your face (maybe a bad example… but the point is that God cares!)

God’s deepest desire for you is to show that He is God. He so desires to bring breakthrough in your job situation, heal your sickness, bring unity to your family, bless you with a relationship, bring revival in your ministry…The thing is, he needs you to trust and put your faith  in him… and faith is active!

Peter walks out of the boat and experiences that God is GOD. The key thing to see here is that he actively lived out his faith.
Today, you can allow God to show you that He is God simply by putting your trust and faith in Him. Not allowing thoughts, people, circumstances, or anythimg to keep you down. God loves you! He is at work! Because of that you can put your full trust and faith in Him.

Prayer:
Thank you Father for loving me. Thank you for having a special interest in my life.
Today I will put my complete trust and faith in you, and I will expect your blessings today.

I sought the Lord, and he answered me;
he delivered me from all my fears.
Those who look to him are radiant;
their faces are never covered with shame.
Psalms 34:4-5

The solution to all of lifes problems comes from one place.. seeking the Lord.
There is never a time where we pray and He does not listen. God always has an ear to hear.
Not only will he hear you out, but he will answer you in His perfect time. He will ALWAYS answer.
That means that we are free from all of our fears and anxieties because God answers my prayers!

When we seek His face we become radiant. Just like when Moses saw the Lord, the glory of God was all over his face..
No matter what we go through in life, no matter who gives us a hard time, no matter how impossible a situation seems, no matter how many times a door may close…God gives us a reason to smile. This smile from the Lord is radiant.
As we live from this place, there is no shame that can hold us down. There is nothing I have done, no sin so great that can keep that radiant light of God shining from your life. “those who look to him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame”

Prayer:
Thank you God that there is nothing that can stop your light from shining through my life. Let your light shine today.
